This post will guide you how to read pincode from HFM module on a 2021- Mitsubishi Outlander using OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3 key programmer.
Case:
The standard PIN code bypass function using the Nissan 40-pin cable may be unsuccessful on a 2021- Mitsubishi Outlander.
Recommended Solution:
There are two methods to obtain the necessary PIN code:
- Purchase the PIN code from a dedicated source.
- Read the 28-digit PIN code directly from the vehicle’s HFM module.
For example: Method 2
Requirement:
- OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3 or X300 Pro4
- OBDSTAR RH850/V850 Adapter Kit
- MP001 Programmer
- 12V High-power DC Regulated Power Supply
- Main cable
- HFM Module (P/N: EB30001043) from 2021- Mitsubishi Outlander
Step-by-Step Guide:
1.Software Update:
Ensure your OBDSTAR tool has the latest Mitsubishi immobilizer software installed.
2.Tool Navigation:
On the OBDSTAR G3, navigate through the following menu path: Mitsubishi -> Manual Select Model -> China -> Outlander -> Proximity -> 2021- -> Read PinCode (C4-06).
3.MCU Identification:
When prompted by the software, select the correct processor for the HFM module: R7F7010193.
4.Module Removal:
Carefully remove the HFM module from the vehicle.
5.Adapter Wiring:
Solder OBDSTAR C4-06 adapter onto the HFM module, strictly following the provided wiring diagram.
6.System Setup:
Connect C4-06 adapter to OBDSTAR MP001 Programmer. Then, connect MP001 to your X300 Classic G3 key programmer.
Note: To ensure a reliable connection, always use the original, unmodified decryption cable.
7.PIN Code Retrieval:
Power on the entire setup and initiate the ‘Read PinCode’ function. The system will successfully extract the 28-digit PIN code from the HFM module. Remember to save this code securely.
8.Key Programming:
Use the retrieved 28-digit PIN code to complete the standard “all keys lost” key programming procedure for the vehicle.
