This tutorial demonstrates how to add a smart key to a Lexus ES200 8A-B8 system using KEYDIY KD-X6 programmer. The same method applies to All Keys Lost situations.
Required Tools
- KEYDIY KD-X6 Main Unit
- OBD Function Extension Cable & Main OBD Cable, FT30P CAN Adapter Cable (All are in KD-X6 Package)
- KEYDIY TIB42-4 Universal Smart Key (with battery installed)
- Original Vehicle Key (OEM Key)

Step 1: Detect OEM Key & Generate Universal Key
- Connect the OBD extension cable to KD-X6, attach the main OBD cable, and plug it into the vehicle OBD port.

- Go to Remote Function > Smart Match > Smart Match(Toyota 4D8A).

- Place the OEM key in the KD-X6 sensing area. Press the Unlock button twice when prompted.

- The screen will identify the key as Lexus B8 (433.58 / 434.42 MHz).
- Place the TIB universal key in the sensing area, select the detected chip, and tap Generate (Wireless). Press any button on the new key to complete generation.

Step 2: Back Up Smartbox EEPROM Data
- Remove the lower trim cover on the passenger side to access the Smartbox connector.
- Unplug the original vehicle connector, plug in the FT30P CAN adapter cable inline, and connect the adapter cable to the OBD extension cable.

- On the menu of KD-X6key programmer, navigate to Immo Programming > Lexus > Smart Key System > 8A Page 4 B6/HB9/BA.
- Tap Backup EPROM Data for Smart Box.

- Cycle the ignition ON and OFF once, turn the hazard lights ON and OFF once, then confirm on screen.
- Save the EEPROM file to your device storage.

Step 3: Program the New Key
- Tap Add Prox Keys.
- Turn the ignition ON (dashboard lights illuminated).
- Choose the option to bypass the PIN code using the backed-up EEPROM file, then select the saved file.

- Hold the original OEM key close to the Start button. Remove it after one beep.
- Hold the new KEYDIY TIB universal key close to the Start button. Remove it after two beeps.

- The screen will display “Learningcomplete”.

Step 4: System Restoration & Testing
- Unplug FT30P CAN adapter cable and reconnect the original vehicle connector under the passenger dash.
- Test the new key: check remote lock/unlock functions and engine keyless start.
