Launch has new ways to unlock the FCA SGW (Security Gateway) for users in different parts of the world. The solution you need is based on your IP address location. Users in Europe cannot choose the US option. Users in North America cannot choose the European or Other options. See the details below.
1.For users in USA/Mexico/Canada regions
Unlock method: login FCA account to unlock FCA SGW on Launch X431 tool directly
When diagnosing an FCA vehicle with a Launch X431 tool, users will receive a prompt indicating that the vehicle is equipped with an SGW module. They can simply select “Yes” to log in with an FCA account to unlock the module. This allows access to various functions including reading version information, DTCs, data streams, performing actuation tests, and using special functions.
Note:
Users with North American IP addresses will not see options for Europe or other regions.

Unlock method: purchase SGW Function License (European region only)
A European regional SGW Function License is available for purchase, which includes:
- FCA & Maserati gateway license (1 year)
- Mercedes-Benz gateway license (1 year) — unlocks gateways on Mercedes models produced after 2020
- Renault & Dacia license (now 20 connections, reduced from 50)
- VAG license (1 year)

The license requires renewal after expiration.

Two unlock solutions are offered:
Solution 1: Purchase an SGW function license (Non-European region), which includes:

- VAG license (1 year)
Note: Mercedes-Benz gateway license is not included. License must be renewed upon expiry.

How to register FCA SGW License?
To begin the activation process, complete your registration as follows:
– Visit http://europe-lmp.x431.com/LMP/#/sgwLogin and click Register.
If you don’t receive the username and password, or other problems regarding SGW products, please contact e-commerce@launch-europe.de.
– Alternatively, on your Launch X431 diagnostic tool, navigate:
More > Licenses > Use Software Card > SGW User Authentication > Register.
– Fill in the registration form. Your details will be reviewed individually. You may proceed with activation while waiting for review.
For a Smooth Verification Process:
To confirm your identity, please follow these steps:
1.Take a photo of your government-issued ID card placed next to your Launch diagnostic device.
2.Upload that photo for verification.
3.Please avoid submitting large scans (like A4 page scans). Too much empty background can often make the details on your ID card difficult to read.

How to Activate Your FCA SGW License?
Please note: The activation process depends on the type of license key you have.
Case 1: If your license key begins with FCA, MESGW, SGWP, POAL, or POAT
In your Launch X431 diagnostic app, navigate from the home screen to: More > Licenses > Use Software Card > SGW User Authentication and log in.
Find and select the Security Gateway Activation Form, complete all required fields, and submit it.
You can review the status of your submission later under Status Inquiry.
Case 2: For any other type of license key
Go to: More > Licenses > Use Software Card.
Type in your license key and tap Confirm.
If you get an error message mentioning “SGW User Authentication,” it may mean your account hasn’t been verified yet or there was a problem with verification. You will be notified via email if this is the case.
