Xtool h6pro + KC501: not working

I can do the keys with xtool h6pro and kc501, the thing it struggles with is writing d flash or p flash bench mode i just get connection errors all the time. i can read the d flash and p flash through obd with xtool but not write

Yanhua Mini ACDP: works perfectly

I regularly use ACDP to make CAS2, CAS3, CAS4, and FEM/BDC keys. Tool works great, I would not use OBD mode. I only recommend ICP or bench mode unless making a CAS2 key since only OBD is supported option. OBD CAS 2 is safe all others ICP is safe!

I also use this tool to read the ISN from DMEs. This all works great with the interface boards! Using just the CAN wires is a hit or miss. Read ISN from N20 DME with can wires – worked. Read ISN from n55 DME with can wires – didn’t work. Read MSD80 with can wires – worked. Read MSV70 can wires worked! Read a different N20 DME can wires – didn’t work. However using interface boards works every time!

Here’s where ACDP goes down hill! The connection to the programmer is not that great. You first connect to Bluetooth to the device then the device connects to your wifi network! This is not ideal you can connect to your phones hotspot but is tricky till you get the hang off it. In my option this device should broadcast its own network then you should be able to connect your device to the programmer but it does not work this way.

ACDP is my first and only programmer that works decent for a cheap price!

Hextag cant make keys, you need its counterpart for that. Autohex. That said it is way better than ACDP except for its cost. I think locksmith lite has no annual cost.

BMW explorer

BMW explorer is also good for keys. Only downside is you need a key programmer and dump reader to prepare keys for CAS3/3+ where OBD is not possible. People say all can be done OBD, never succeeded in doing 3+ OBD but maybe I need to learn better. I think to do OBD cas 3+ with explorer you need DME ISN as if it is an all key lost situation, meaning you also need the DME ISN licence!!
