One customer wanted to test if his Lonsdor K518 Pro hardware or the OBD cable is faulty, and he got the error messages below:
- “Damage detected on the following pins: 1 2 3 6 7 8 9 A B C D E F”
- “OBD cable not inserted”
- “OBD cable not detected”
- “Damage detected on pin 11”
UOBDII.com engineer offered the solution below.
The possible cause is that you connect the OBDII cable of K518 Pro to the vehicle.
You only need to connect the OBDII cable and 12V power supply to K518 Pro Key Programmer. Do not connect the other end of OBDII cable to the vehicle or any device.
OBD Cable Self-Test Guide:
Select Immo & Remote>> OBDII>> OBDII upgrade>> OBDII upgrade
This function can update OBDII program.
Before operation insert the OBD cable into K518 Pro.
It will detect OBDII info.
OBD upgrade operation successful.
If it still says the OBD cable is not detected during the self-test, the OBD cable may be broken. Contact your dealer to get a replacement OBD cable or buy a new one for K518 Pro.
Hardware Self-Test Guide:
Select Immo & Remote>> OBDII>> OBDII Hardware self-check
This function need to connect the device to 12V power and make sure the device is well connected with OBD cable.
Just connect OBD cable to device, no need to connect it to vehicle OBD port.
Lonsdor K518 Pro Key Programmer OBD self-test is completed and the hardware function is normal.
If OBD self-test says hardware function is not working, then there is something wrong with your hardware.
