What’s the difference between Launch X431 PAD V Elite, PAD V, and PAD VII? Which one is the best?
1.X431 PAD V Elite vs. PAD V:
X431 PAD V Elite is the upgraded version of PAD V (Pad5), with optimized and upgraded hardware.
X431 Pad5 comes with smartbox, and the new PAD V Elite comes with SmartLink VCI.
New PAD V Elite advantages:
- Support both DoIP and CAN FD protocols (comes with CAN FD cable but without car adapter and cable);
- Has larger storage and battery capacity.
Apart from that, there is no big difference in the function.
2.X431 PAD V Elite vs. X431 PAD VII:
Both come with the Smartlink C VCI and support the same function.
The main differences:
X431 PAD7 has a newer system, bigger screen, larger battery, twice RAM and memory.
PAD V Elite is cheaper than PAD7.
Launch PAD V Elite has two versions: Global Version and UK/EU Version.
- Global Version is for customers outside the UK and EU countries.
- UK/EU Version is for UK/EU countries customers.

I have been using this scanner for a week now and have found 2 misdiagnosed vehicles from other shops. This PAD V ELITE scanner loads quickly and so far very user-friendly. Still trying to figure out all the things it can do but as of now very happy with it.
