Lonsdor is rolling out a major update for K518 Pro Full Version and FCV Version in February 2026. This update adds support for BMW G/U series (BDC2, BDC3, BCP, LCD) and VAG MQB49 5C/5D key programming. Here is a breakdown of how licensing, credits, and hardware work with this new software.
- Checking Your License Status
If you own a Lonsdor K518 Pro Full version and your annual subscription is active, you are good to go—no extra license needed. If your subscription has lapsed, simply renew it to regain access.
For K518 Pro FCV users, things work a little differently. You will need to purchase and activate two separate licenses:
- Lonsdor BMW BDC2/BDC3/BCP/LCDLicense
- Lonsdor VAG MQB49 5C/5DLicense
- Understanding Licenses and Credits
Both the VAG and BMW licenses come bundled with 160 credits, valued at around $23 USD. These credits are consumed when you read or copy OEM key data.
Need more credits? You have two options:
- Buy them from an authorized Lonsdor distributor(e.g.UOBDII)
- Swap points on Lonsdor APP (at a 100:1 conversion rate)
Good to know: You get 10% of your spent credits back after each successful job. So, roughly every tenth use is free.
A quick visual cue: If you see a red credit icon next to a function, that means credits are required to run it.
- What About SFD Vehicles?
Lonsdor does support SFD security gateway unlocking for 2023+ VAG models. However, the device does not generate the unlock code itself. You will need to source that code from a third-party provider before proceeding.
- Keys and Adapters – What Works?
Keys: For best results, stick with original OEM keys for BDC2/BDC3 and MQB49 5C/5D systems.
Adapters: This is important—you must use official Lonsdor hardware. The required adapters are:
Third-party clip adapters are not recognized by K518 Pro and should be avoided.
