BMW BDC2 Encrypted Key Copy with Yanhua ACDP2

Follow this guide to copy a BMW BDC2 encrypted key using Yanhua ACDP2 on the bench.

What You’ll Need:

Software Versions Required:

  • ACDP PC: V1.0.64+
  • ACDP2 PC: V2.0.58+
  • Android: V3.0.141+
  • iOS: V3.6.4+

Step 1: Extract Data from Original Key

Disassemble the original BDC2 key—identify the rectangular main chip on the board.

Connect Mini ACDP2, BMW BDC2 Encrypted Key Interface Board, and original key.

In the software, go to:

BMW > FEM/BDC > IMMO/Mileage > BDC02/BDC03/BCP/LCD key (encrypted chip) ICP copy key > BDC02 Key (Rectangle main chip)

Read the key data.

After completion, note the VIN and Key ID shown on screen—take a screenshot.

The software saves a .bin backup file automatically. Remember its save path.

Step 2: Prepare New Key

Decide on the new key type (supports BDC03, BCP, LCD display keys).

Disassemble it to access the board.

Step 3: Transfer Data New Key

⚠️ Crucial: Disconnect the original key before connecting the new one.

Connect the new key to Yanhua ACDP2 key programmer and BDC2 interface board.

If moving from BDC2 to BDC3, flip the DIP switch to BDC3.

Choose the correct write option (e.g., BDC03 Key Square main chip).

Select the original .bin backup file when prompted.

Confirm VIN and Key ID match, then start writing.

Once finished, read back the new key to verify successful cloning—take another screenshot.

Step 4: Test Both Keys

Reassemble the key shells and test them in the vehicle.

Ensure both keys lock, unlock, and start the engine correctly.
