BMW 1 series 2007 AKL (all keys lost). Removed ecu, read ISN from ECU on bench using Autel IM608 and Gbox2 (connection diagram is on the programmer),(taken pic of isn), reinstalled ecu, went to IMMO on IM608, did AKL and entered ISN from ecu, used “code via programmer”, inserted new into xp400,key data writes back, key coded, starts vehicle, but had red steering wheel light on dash, did elv syn.
JOB DONE!.
The total time taken from start to finish was 40min..(including removing and reinstall of ecu)
Do not use the ISN from cas3 unit, it has to be ISN from ECU. I learnt the hard/long way on a previous job….
Hope this helps someone…. as you guys have helped me…
Notes:
1. didn’t need to remove CAS.
2. If i remember rightly it was a cas3+, I did initially try via obd, it didn’t work, so had to get isn from ecu.
3. Autel im608 has annual subs, but first year free
Enjoy!

Good to know:
For this job, Autel MaxiIM IM608 Key Programmer with APB112 Smart Key Simulator and G-BOX2 are highly recommended.
