Here is a step-by-step locksmith guide to programming smart keys on a 2016 Lincoln MKX with All Keys Lost. Shows how to use Lonsdor K518 Pro and Ford AKL Bypass Cable to eliminate active alarm interference, pre-program ID49 868MHz transponders, perform battery power cycles, and adapt two working keys.
STEP 1: Pre-Programming the Smart Keys
Turn on your Lonsdor K518 Pro
Go to Generate smart key -> LINCOLN -> MKX -> 2009-2016 ID49 868.
Drop your first blank key into the slot and press Generate.

STEP 2: Hooking Up the Bypass Cable
Navigate to Immo & Remote -> LINCOLN -> MKX -> 2016–2017 -> Smart Key -> All smart key lost

At least 2 smart keys are required
Turn off the ignition, then open and close the driver’s door once.
Connect Lonsdor Ford AKL Cable according to the wiring diagram and plug K518 Pro key programmer into the OBD port

Disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery terminal, wait for the screen prompt, and reconnect it (图 7).
Once the tool finishes backing up the IMMO data, disconnect Ford bypass cable and reconnect the factory wiring harness

Step 3: Security Timer & Key Learning
Confirm harness restoration on screen. Lonsdor K518 device will run a ~10-minute security calculation timer to clear out old key registrations

Put Key 1 into the vehicle’s backup slot and confirm programming.
Put Key 2 into the slot and confirm programming

Final Checklist
Test engine start on both keys, then check remote locking, unlocking, and trunk functions

Keep a battery charger hooked up to the car during the 10-minute timer, and remember that Ford PATS requires at least two registered keys to exit programming mode!
